ON AUDIT REPORT SUBMISSION : WILL YOU BLAME UNIONS AGAIN FOR ITS DELAY ?

By Oyedeji Ahmed (LMP)

You may not have the in-depth knowledge of what's going on until you are properly informed. And until you have access to some hidden information on LAUTECH, you will know who's truly sincere or not between the parties involved.

When Government said; Audit report will be out on Friday, I smiled and laughed hysterically. This is not because I was full of joy but because of the ruse being used again to deceive the public. Their insincerity is beyond measure. They keep deceiving the public and the gullible ones keep believing them. The two Governors are nothing but a jest. This is the more reason why I advised them in one of my article to throw away their ego and accept defeat now.

Though, few people kicked against that submission even without any tangible reason, their argument was that the unions should be blamed for preventing audit in the first place. But one may begin to wonder how possible an employer is bigger than an employee. How a worker who's employed to go to class can prevent a financial audit ? How a staff who has no any of the school file in his room but only in the school office can prevent KPMG from coming to school ? All these are nothing but a delay tactics.

It would interest you to know that Governments have been in possession of all the files needed for audit since June. Even when there was no any traces of contractual agreement and according to the management position through their memo, the governments had never ceased to deceive the public on audit prevention by the Unions. But not until recently and immediately after the inauguration of the new members of the governing council that KPMG got approval on appointment. Ever since then, we've been counting and hoping  that the two weeks given to the firm for the exercise would be completed one day. But as it seems, the 18th of this month expected for it submission is yet to be. In Fact, Not even the Friday again as publicly announced by the council chairman and the Oyo state commissioner for education. The submission has however been  postponed again till Wednesday. Who's fooling who ?

To me, I believe the council members and the government already receive the report. But only trying to use a delay tactics to be able to do the needful. If I may ask, should there be any other excuse again after audit ? I see nothing stopping the governments from releasing funds to the council on Friday after the meeting at Lagos if truly they are sincere and more concern about our plights. This would have allowed the council members to meet with the unions next week in school instead of coming up with another meeting at Lagos on Wednesday. I just pray nothing would come up again as an excuse.

To this end, I seize this opportunity to correct the wrong impression of some people whom out of wisdom, misinformation and shallow thought could be thinking that *LMP* is being used by any one. But do I have to blame you when you are only limited to the information you have ? I hope you look before you leap to avoid a wrong judgement.

Just like some of you will say am Pro Unions, others will never stop saying am supporting management. In Fact, there was even a time like this that some people said I was defending government. But the truth is that am not supporting any one. Come to think of it, how's it possible to be supporting any of the parties involved and still relating with others ? As a matter of fact, I've access to Government, Unions and management. So, I only act based on fact after collating information from each end. Truth they say is bitter, when you uphold it, people embrace you without any dismay. So be good in your judgement for it shall set you free in life.
