Engr. Seyi Makinde this afternoon hosted the #fundLAUTECH team and gave the initiative a major boost by pledging a total donation of N5,000,000.00 (Five Million Naira Only ).
He however, made an instant donation of N2.5 million (Two Million and Five Hundred Thousand Naira Only ) with a proviso to redeem the balance available at a later date.
Engr. Seyi Makinde, who is a subject matter expert on Fluid and Gas Metering, is also the Chief Promoter of the Omituntun Foundation and a Governorship Candidate during the 2015 elections in Oyo State.
While he wholeheartedly endorsed the #fundLAUTECH Initiative, he equally expressed his concerns during a very robust engagement sequel to the team's presentation. He clearly stated his interest in the short, medium and long term goals of the #fundLAUTECH initiative as a rallying point for the conversation on the future of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso.
He also promised to help rally support for the University to remain a unique and sustainable institution.
Present at the event was Hon Kehinde Ayoola J P, former Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly and a notable social commentator.
