Kenya pass the bill of punishing parent for not sending there children to school

Kenya pass the bill of punishing parent for not sending there children to school
Kenyan senate has concluded debate on a bill that proposes to fine parents who do not send their children to school at the age of 3, to face 1 year imprisonment or pay a fine of about 1000 US dollars as a way of punishing disobedience.
According to a report by cctv.africa, admission fees and entry exams for joining early childhood education in the area, have been removed in the new bill to allow easy access of education, for the Kenyan children.

The new bill also aims to regulate and restore order in early learning by reforming nursery schools which are bombarded by high fees, unqualified teachers and undistinguished educational standards in the country.

Nursery school teachers will now be required to have diplomas from recognized institutions contrary to current teachers who are basic certificate holders and even some school drop outs.XX The staff will also be required to have a certificate of good conduct and a medical certificate that shows that they are of sound mind.

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) which recruits and regulates teachers in Kenya will also be given the mandate to instil professionalism in the nurse school teaching faculty. The teaching staff must be registered by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and recruited as teachers or care givers by the early childhood education recruitment committee, reads the Bill.XSource: cctv.africa

Simple step to install your dstv

Simple step to install your dstv
We decided to come up with a complete DIY guide for installing or setting up a satellite dish & decoder for DSTV, MyTV, Multi TV & etcetera without paying an installer/technician after we recently installed one for a student who complained of having not even half our installation fees.

We concluded that a guide like this can help a lot of persons install their satellite dishes without a bug of any kind.

Following this guide step by step will help you install and setup your satellite Tv dishes without the usual missing channels, poor signal and related issues that happens as a result of low technical know-how for installing satellite dishes.

Page Classification! [Quick-Jump to a Section]
Tools Needed
Extra Tools
How to Setup the Satellite Dish
How to Configure the Decoder, Activate smart card and free-to-air channels for first viewing
Orbital Position & Frequencies for Popular Digital Satellite TV Providers
Scanning for Satellite TV Channels & Completing the Setup
DSTV Free-to-air Channels
How to activate a DSTV Smart Card for First Use
What if theres the E16 Error Code?
How to Record TV Shows and Programs
Tools Needed
The Satellite dish and components (ie. Reflector, Lnbf and Decoder. They are usually sold together)
A good hammer
4 Pieces of 3-inches nail
I packet of cable clips (the one with nails)
10/13, and 14/15 combination, flat or ring spanner(s)
A cutter (or electric pliers)
A Black Solution Tape (cellotape)
A Screwdriver
F connectors (a minimum of 2) and Coaxial cables (1 full roll of Coaxial cable is about NGN1,000, $9)
A digital satellite signal meter (We used a strong decoder and so will be using it for references throughout this tutorial)
Extra Tools
This part is necessary if you are going to use a pipe and not the house roof, wall or wooden fetcher board before the roof.

The pipe must be fixed on an open space without trees and/or other hindrances. Below is the tools necessary for mounting your satellite dish in a open space outside the building or with a longer pipe.

A cup of Cement mixed with stones
a trowel
Cutlass or shovel (for digging of hole)
A paint of sand and a bucket of water
How to Setup the Satellite Dish
The satellite dish components will usually come in separate parts and must be arranged in such a way that makes it easy to receive signals and withstand strong wind.

The arrangement of the dish components depends on where you intend mounting it on, if you are going to mount it on a root, wall or wooden fetcher board of the building, look at the image below for how it should be coupled.

 Save
 Save
If you intend mounting it on a pipe outside the building, look at the image below and use the tools listed in the extra tools section above to make it solid and well grounded.

The last things needed to complete this section is to fit in the screws and nuts in the reflectors (dish) rear and connect the LNBF accordingly. See images below for the tips.

 Save

After mounting your satellite dish correctly, you can safely move ahead to the next and final steps covered below.

Related Tips:

Download Tv on Computer Free
Sybla Tv Review: Watching Live Tv, Matches On android
How to Configure the Decoder, Activate smart card and free-to-air channels for first viewing
This is the part where your digital satellite signal meter will come into play. Plug the Coaxial cable into the Lnbf  base of the main dish assembly and then plug the other end of the cable into the LNB in (Antenna) port in the back of a digital satellite signal meter or a strong decoder.

Complete the second part also known as dish alignment by locating east, west, points and degrees depending on the satellite tv provider you intend doing the setup for.

Do note that for this tutorial, we used a strong decoder (as a digital satellite signal meter) to install a DSTV satellite dish and then connected the lnbf cable to the DSTV decoder to watch all the channels available for our selected plan.

Nafdac warns against patronage of fake drug dealers

Nafdac warns against patronage of fake drug dealers
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has warned against buying drugs from local drug vendors.

The Agencys Coordinator in Jigawa, Mr AbdusSalam Lawan, gave the warning on Saturday in Dutse after an executive walk to commemorate the 2016 Africa Safety Day/World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.

Lawan advised the public to stop patronising local drug vendors, pointing out that drugs bought from such vendors were often expired and dangerous to health.

He explained that such drugs were not kept under the prescribed temperature, thereby rendering them harmful for human consumption.

The coordinator also urged the public to ensure that any medicine they buy carries NAFDAC registration number on it.

People are buying drugs without NAFDAC registration numbers.

They are doing it not because they wanted to do so, but they were not properly informed of the necessary things to do,’’ he said.

According to him, the agency will not relent in its effort to combat the circulation of unwholesome and fake products in the state.

Earlier, Mr Angus Ibezim, the FRSC Sector Commander in the state, noted that the UN and Africa Union dedicated the third week of every November to remind road users on the need to exercise caution while on the road.

According to him, the day also offers opportunity to increase public awareness on burden of road traffic crashes on individuals, families and communities.

He said there was the need to initiate and promote efforts at stemming road crashes.

The commander noted that the commemorative walk coincided with the corps routine monthly walking/jogging exercise.

He said the exercise was based on the scientific research outcome which revealed that people who exercise regularly are healthier physically and mentally.

This boosts the energy of those who exercise to think more clearly and sleep better.

It has equally been found to improve mood, reduce anxiety, decrease the effect of stress and raise self-confidence.

And all these are good attributes for alertness while using the road, Ibezim said.

Officials of the NAFDAC, NDLEA, Police and other para-military agencies participated in the exercise.

Top ten most dangerous viruses in the world

Top ten most dangerous viruses in the world
Bird flu, Ebola and now Zika - there seems to be news on a new dangerous virus almost every day. But so far, experts are saying that Zika itself isn't as bad as HIV, Ebola and these other eight viruses.

1. The most dangerous virus is the Marburg virus. It is named after a small and idyllic town on the river Lahn - but that has nothing to do with the disease itself. The Marburg virus is a hemorrhagic fever virus. As with Ebola, the Marburg virus causes convulsions and bleeding of mucous membranes, skin and organs. It has a fatality rate of 90 percent.

2. There are five strains of the Ebola virus, each named after countries and regions in Africa: Zaire, Sudan, Tai Forest, Bundibugyo and Reston. The Zaire Ebola virus is the deadliest, with a mortality rate of 90 percent. It is the strain currently spreading through Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia, and beyond. Scientists say flying foxes probably brought the Zaire Ebola virus into cities.

3. The Hantavirus describes several types of viruses. It is named after a river where American soldiers were first thought to have been infected with the Hantavirus, during the Korean War in 1950. Symptoms include lung disease, fever and kidney failure.

4. The various strains of bird flu regularly cause panic - which is perhaps justified because the mortality rate is 70 percent. But in fact the risk of contracting the H5N1 strain - one of the best known - is quite low. You can only be infected through direct contact with poultry. It is said this explains why most cases appear in Asia, where people often live close to chickens.

5. A nurse in Nigeria was the first person to be infected with the Lassa virus. The virus is transmitted by rodents. Cases can be endemic - which means the virus occurs in a specific region, such as in western Africa, and can reoccur there at any time. Scientists assume that 15 percent of rodents in western Africa carry the virus.

The Marburg virus under a microscope
6. The Junin virus is associated with Argentine hemorrhagic fever. People infected with the virus suffer from tissue inflammation, sepsis and skin bleeding. The problem is that the symptoms can appear to be so common that the disease is rarely detected or identified in the first instance.

7. The Crimea-Congo fever virus is transmitted by ticks. It is similar to the Ebola and Marburg viruses in the way it progresses. During the first days of infection, sufferers present with pin-sized bleedings in the face, mouth and the pharynx.

8. The Machupo virus is associated with Bolivian hemorrhagic fever, also known as black typhus. The infection causes high fever, accompanied by heavy bleedings. It progresses similar to the Junin virus. The virus can be transmitted from human to human, and rodents often the carry it.

9. Scientists discovered the Kyasanur Forest Virus (KFD) virus in woodlands on the southwestern coast of India in 1955. It is transmitted by ticks, but scientists say it is difficult to determine any carriers. It is assumed that rats, birds and boars could be hosts. People infected with the virus suffer from high fever, strong headaches and muscle pain which can cause bleedings.

10. Dengue fever is a constant threat. If you're planning a holiday in the tropics, get informed about dengue. Transmitted by mosquitoes, dengue affects between 50 and 100 million people a year in popular holiday destinations such as Thailand and India. But it's more of a problem for the 2 billion people who live in areas that are threatened by dengue fever.

One of the Hottest Stars known!

NGC 2440 is another planetary nebula ejected by a dying star, but it has a much more chaotic structure than NGC 2346. The central star is one of the hottest known, with a surface temperature near 200,000 degrees Celsius. The complex structure of the surrounding nebula suggests to some astronomers that there have been periodic oppositely directed outflows from the central star, somewhat similar to that in NGC2346, but in the case of NGC 2440 these outflows have been episodic, and in different directions during each episode. The nebula is also rich in clouds of dust, some of which form long, dark streaks pointing away from the central star. In addition to the bright nebula, which glows because of fluorescence due to ultraviolet radiation from the hot star, NGC 2440 is surrounded by a much larger cloud of cooler gas which is invisible in ordinary light but can be detected with infrared telescopes. NGC 2440 lies about 4,000 light-years from Earth in thedirection of the constellation Puppis.

The Hubble Heritage team made this image from observations of NGC 2440acquired by Howard Bond (STScI) and Robin Ciardullo (Penn State).Photo

ASUU Strike Continues As FG Frustrates Senate

The intervention by the Senate President Bukola Saraki into the one-week warning strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) failed to yield any positive result, as the absence of the Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun marred the resolution of the crisis.

At a marathon meeting with the national leadership of the Union on Wehe Ministry of Education as well as Labour and Productivity, no agreement was reached, as the Union vowed to continue with the strike.

The meeting which lasted for about three hours was presided over by Saraki.

The one-week strike which commenced on Wednesday enters its second day today, even as ASUU President Biodun Ogunyemi told newsmen that the industrial action would continue.

Areas of disagreement between the Union and government include: payment of fraction of staff entitlement and the denial of staff entitlement in respect of earned academic allowance amounting to about N128 billion, funding of universities for revitalization and the refusal to register the the Nigerian Universities Pension Management Company by the National Compensation Commission.

Others include the introduction of the TSA, decrease in budgetary allocation to education and the refusal by government to renegotiate the 2009 agreement which was due for renegotiation since 2012.

Addressing journalists after the meeting, Chairman Senate Committee on Tertiary Education and TETFUND, Barau Jibrin, disclosed that a sub-committee has been set up to resolve the issues.

He said another meeting would hold today which would include the Finance Minister and Director General of the Budget Office, Ben Akabueze.

Said Jibrin: “We have had a fruitful deliberation. And a way forward has been found by creating a sub-committee of this committee to sit and find out certain things in the Ministry of Finance which will bring us close to the resolution of this problem. We will start sitting by tomorrow (today) including the Ministry of Finance who has not been able to attend this meeting but we are sure she will be here tomorrow and the Director General of the Budget Office.

“We have created a template about how to resolve this problem. And you know ASUU is a democratic body, they have to consult. So, it’s ongoing, it’s a work in progress. And a very important headway has been created. A good template has been created. And we see light at the end of the tunnel”.

On their part, Minister of State for Education, Anthony Anwuka and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Clement Ilo, commended the Senate leadership for its intervention and expressed optimism that they issues would be resolved very soon.

The Senate Tuesday mandated Saraki to liaise with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the Executive arm of government over the warning strike by the Union.

*CAUSES OF KIDNEY DISEASES. BEWARE AND BEWARNED

*CAUSES OF KIDNEY DISEASES. BEWARE AND BEWARNED!*

Ghanaian are increasingly dying as a result of kidney disease.

HOW TO AVERT THE MENACE OF KIDNEY DISEASE:

*1. Stop delaying going to a toilet.*

Keeping your urine in your bladder for too long is a bad idea. A full bladder can cause bladder damage.

The urine that stays in the bladder multiplies bacteria quickly. Once the urine reflxes back to the urether and kidneys, toxic substances can result in kidney infections, then urinary tract infections, and nephritis, plus uremia.
When nature calls do it as soon as possible.

*2. Eating too much salt.*

You should eat not more than 5.8 grams of salt daily.

*3. Eating too much meat.*

Too much protein in your diet is harmful for your kidneys.

Protein digestion produces ammonia a toxin that is very destructive to your kidneys. More meat equals more kidney damage.

*4. Drinking too much caffeine.*

Caffeine is a component of many sodas and soft drinks. It raises your blood pressure and your kidneys start suffering.

You should cut down the amount of Coke, Pepsi, Red Bull, etc that you drink daily.

*5. Not drinking water.*

Our kidneys should be hydrated properly to perform their functions well.

If we dont drink enough, the toxins can start accumulating in the blood, as there isnt enough fluid to drain them through kidneys.

***Drink more than 10 glasses of water daily. There is an easy way to check if you are drinking enough water: Look at the colour of your urine; the lighter the colour, the better.

*6. Late treatment.*

Treat all your health problems properly and have your health checked regularly.

ABU Builds 1-barrel-per-day Oil Refinery

The Department of Chemical Engineering of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has established a refinery with capacity to process one barrel of crude oil per day.
The team leader of the project, Professor Ibrahim Ali Muhammad Dabo told our correspondent who visited the refinery site that at present the refinery would be used mainly for the training of students, although the department had the manpower to build a refinery that would be bigger than that of Kaduna if it had government support.
“The initial idea was to construct a 1,000 barrel-capacity refinery, but lack of funding limited us to this one, where we would now be refining one barrel per day,” Dabo said, adding that more than 80 per cent of the materials used for the construction of the refinery were sourced locally.
“Only the controls were sourced from Hong Kong. No expatriate was hired from abroad. All those that were engaged in this project are Nigerians. Therefore, this mini refinery is a product of Nigerian brains. If government can come in, we have the ability to do wonderful things, not only refinery.
This is our training and it is what our department is meant for,” he said.
He explained that beside the land and fencing that ABU provided, the project cost only about N20 million.
Professor Dabo further stated that the idea of the mini refinery was conceived about 15 years back, but work commenced fully in the year 2011.

Osun Poly Graduate Dies After Project Defence

Femi Makinde, Osogbo

Students and staff members of the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, have been thrown into grief following the sudden death of a fresh graduate of the institution, Felix Agandi, who died barely four days after he defended his undergraduate project.

One of Agandi’s coursemates told our correspondent on the telephone on Friday that he was dropped at his residence by one of his friends at around 10pm on Monday night.

The coursemate stated that the 27-year-old graduate of Mass Communication was an orphan, who struggled to finance his education from his national diploma days to the time he finished his higher national diploma programme.

The deceased’s neighbours were said to have rushed him to a hospital after he was heard suddenly screaming from his sleep but he was reportedly certified dead right inside the car before he arrived hospital on Tuesday morning.

He said, “We are all in a pensive mood in Iree now because of Felix’s death, who screamed from his sleep and died shortly after that.

“ Felix was a gentle person but jovial. He was humble and hardworking. Despite being an orphan he saw himself through school. His death is an unfortunate one and this week has been one of the saddest ones in recent times in Iree.”

The remains of the Delta State-born student were said to have been buried at Ilesa, Osun State, where he lived with his siblings on the same day.

A lecturer at the Department of Mass Communication, Mr. Tope Abiola, who is also the Public Relations Officer of the institution, confirmed the death of Agandi.

He told our correspondent that the management of the school had visited the deceased’s siblings to commiserate with them.

Abiola said, “The death of the student is still a big shock to everyone of us. We were told that he died in his sleep. He died just some days after he defended his project. There were few corrections made on his project and he was supposed to submit the corrected version when he died.

10 Helpful Ways To Fight Bad Breath - Health

Some people has this bad breath, that before they think of what to tell you, you have already start perceiving the odor angry

Let me start with the causes then the cure.
The origins of bad breath are not mysterious: dental cavities, gum disease, poor oral hygiene, coated tongue (a white or yellow coating on the tongue, usually due to inflammation) are among the most common.

Hundreds of bacteria live in our mouths and some of them—on the tongue or below the gumline or in pockets created by gum disease between gums and teeth, for example—create sulfurous smells.

Other causes may include malnutrition (fat breakdown gives your breath a fruity odor), uncontrolled diabetes, and dry mouth (saliva has an antimicrobial effect). Infections such as sore throat or sinusitis, or intestinal disorders, such as heartburn, ulcers, and lactose intolerance, also result in bad breath.

Bad breath can be intermittent as well. Food and drink, such as garlic, onions, coffee, and alcohol, can temporarily cause bad breath. Smokers also suffer from it. Whatever the cause, treatment involves correcting the underlying disorder—and/or perhaps trying a few easy solutions

Here are 10 ways to fight bad breath: smiley

1 .  Drink plenty of water and swish cool water around in your mouth. This is especially helpful to freshen “morning breath.”

 2. Brush after every meal and floss, preferably twice a day.

3 . Replace your toothbrush every two to three months.

4. Arrange regular dental checkups and cleanings.

5.Scrape your tongue each morning with a tongue scraper or spoon to decrease the bacteria, fungi, and dead cells that can cause odor. Hold the tip of the tongue with gauze to pull it forward in order to clean the back of the tongue.

6. Chew a handful of cloves, fennel seeds, or aniseeds. Their antiseptic qualities help fight halitosis-causing bacteria.

7. Chew a piece of lemon or orange rind for a mouth- freshening burst of flavor. (Wash the rind thoroughly first.) The citric acid will stimulate the salivary glands—and fight bad breath.

8. Chew a fresh sprig of parsley, basil, mint, or cilantro. The chlorophyll in these green plants neutralizes odors.

9. Try a 30-second mouthwash rinse that is alcohol-free (unike many off-the-shelf products). Mix a cup of water with a teaspoon of baking soda (which changes the pH level and fights odor in the mouth) and a few drops of antimicrobial peppermint essential oil. Don’t swallow it! (Yields several rinses.)

10. One cannot know everything, please add yours in case you have any.
