Ugandan Lady Banned From Attending Classes For Wearing Mini-skirt

The Law Development Centre in Uganda banned a young lady from attending lectures for dressing in a mini – skirt as shown in the picture above. The law student identified as Joanine Nanyange, took to Facebook on Wednesday to protest against the unfair treatment she received from the security officers at the centre’s gate.

According to the victim, she said the officer explained that her skirt will distract the boys in her class and make them not concentrate.

Read her full post below…

Today, dressed like this, I went to the Law Development Centre to attend classes. Unlike all other days, I saw two women seated right outside the Centre’s gate, one dressed in a Khaki Police uniform. It was an unusual sight and I thought there was something or someone epic on campus. I got off the boda boda and walked towards the gate. The uniformed woman flagged me down and being the law abiding citizen that I am, I stopped. She asked me to pull my skirt down to see how far down it could go. I burst into laughter. Her request didn’t make sense. She insisted, quite seriously. I told her that was the farthest my skirt could go and there was no need to pull it. The other woman, ever with a very satisfied grin, told me I could not access the campus because my skirt was not long enough for LDC standards. I was shocked. Yes. Shocked. Seeing the bewilderment on my face, the two women laboured to explain. Apparently, skirts like mine attract the boys and men that we study with and bar them from concentrating. So they could not be allowed!!!!!!

During induction week, the Deputy Director of the Centre, a woman, told us we shouldn’t wear clothes that distract ‘our brothers’ most of whom are married. I posted about it here. When I got the so-called rules of LDC, I read the section about dress-code and it’s ridiculous. They even prescribe the colour of socks that men should wear! Having dealt with Ugandan systems, including courts which should know better, I know that until something directly affects you, you are not allowed to complain about it. This far, these rules have not been implemented. Now that they have, I am allowed to complain.

A few years ago, 2014 to be specific, Parliament was debating a law that was dubbed the ‘mini-skirt Bill’ for its apparent prohibition of mini-skirts. As would be expected, the Bill caused an uproar among opponents and proponents alike. On one side, there was anger about the ridiculousness of the law along with its discriminatory and sexist undertones; while on the other side there was excitement over the law’s presentation of fertile ground to ridicule and dehumanise women just for the fun of it. Activists stood up against the law and some of these provisions were removed. But the damage was done. Women had been attacked. Women had been beaten. Women had been undressed.

BREAKING: Hillary Clinton to beat Donald Trump

Hillary-Clinton

There are calls for Clinton to initiate a request for recount, but when Hillary hesitated, someone else did for her, Jill Stein. According to the US electoral system, if the recounts end up in Hillary’s favour, then she will have enough votes to win the electoral college. Already, statistics show that Hillary leads Trump in popular votes, by over 2 million votes.

Real Time Politics reports that though many claim that Jill Stein’s move is a long shot, still Wisconsin begins to recount on Friday, November 25. The Clinton faithfuls can only hope that a miracle happens, something statistics can help prove. Share on Facebook Share on Twitter

Meanwhile, an explosive bid to topple the President-elect, pro-Clinton supporters are calling for Trump to be impeached over claims of sexual abuse, fraud and racketeering. One of several petitions calling for his impeachment has amassed more than 33,000 signatures as fury over Trump’s Brexit-style election win boils over. Now scores of legal experts backing the plan believe there is a “strong case” to impeach Trump and strip him of the presidency. It comes as tens of thousands of pro-Clinton supporters sparked violence during a third day of anti-Trump protests – leaving windows smashed, buildings vandalised and fires burning. One law professor claimed there is already enough evidence to impeach Trump. Christopher Peterson, law professor at the University of Utah, claims he has found evidence of fraud and racketeering – criminal offences under US law. Under article II of the United States constitution, fraud and racketeering are considered “high crimes and misdemeanors” and can lead to impeachment.

World's Biggest Machines

Krupp Digging Machine - World's Largest Digging Machine

Krupp Digging Machine - World's Largest Digging Machine
This is the largest digging machine (or trencher or rotating shovel) in the world. It was built by Krupp and is shown here crossing a road in Germany on the way to its destination, an open air coal mine. Although at the mine the treads are unnecessary, it was cheaper to make the machine self-propelled than to try and move it with conventional hauling equipment. The machine is 95 meters high and 215 meters long (almost 2.5 football fields in length). Weight is 45,500 tons (that's equivalent to a bumper to bumper line of jeeps 80 miles long). It took 5 years to design and manufacture at a cost of $100 million. (Source)

The name of that epic structure is Overburden Conveyor Bridge F60 in Lichterfeld. This technological steel giant is 502 metres long, 202 metres wide, 80 metres high and 11,000 ton heavy. It was build in East Germany in 1991 by VEB TAKRAF Lauchhammer (although the GDR was manufacturing slightly lesser types since 1958). After only 13 months of operation the F60 bridge was taken out of operation for energy-political reasons. The opencast mine Klettwitz-Nord where the conveyor bridge was operating is closed. The bridge is owned now by the community and presented as the "Lying Eiffel Tower."

Chile is using a 40-ton drilling machine called Strata 950 to bore through 700 meters (2,300 feet) of rock and free the 33 trapped miners workers trapped in a collapsed copper mine.

Rescuers are using the Strata 950 to drill a 25-inch- diameter hole to the 33 trapped miners from the surface. The machine had to be disassembled into 42 trucks, which were posted out parts in shifts, since they couldn't fit them all together in the drilling area. (Source)

People who see Greg Dunham's motorcycle sometimes think they've suddenly shrunk. What they're actually looking at, however, is the world's biggest motorcycle, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. Dunham built the 15-foot high, 25-foot-long monster bike in over three years. It weighs about 6,500 pounds and cost $300,000. Dunham steers it from a cage below the handlebars.

The beauty shop owner said he created the monster bike because his friends said it couldn't be done and he wanted to prove it could. The reaction he gets from people who see it is icing on the cake. The Guinness Book of World Records describes the bike as the world's tallest rideable motorcycle. (Source)

Humans were not gorillas

Biology is one discipline that has always fascinated me. Or, what other discipline can freely insult the human sense of reasoning without implication? I remember my last year in primary school. I was given a science test and one of the questions – which I later discovered to be from the very unfortunate field of Biology – went “Living things are divided into __and__”.
I was confused. I knew animals and humans are living things. And years earlier, I had been told that plants were also living things. So, I knew three groups of organisms as living things and the paper had slots for only two. After serious deliberation, I filled the gap with “humans” and “animals”. I was wrong! My teacher clarified that living things were divided into plants and animals and humans were classified under animals. I found this difficult to comprehend but was pacified when I was told that humans are higher animals.
That remained so until I realised that science does not differentiate between higher and lower animals. Scientists only called us higher animals to make us feel better about ourselves. It is like calling a dullard an intelligent dullard. Or wrapping poop in a gold-plated paper bag. It makes no difference, it stinks. You do not mask insult with glory. Biologists say humans evolved from a now-extinct creature that also evolved into chimpanzees, apes, orangutans and gorillas. Gorillas? Hell no! A gorilla is not my cousin. Neither are orangutans, apes and chimpanzees. We are entirely different creatures.
Humans have the ability to judge. We know our left from right and our right from wrong. Animals lack this ability. They even lack any form of considerable intelligence. They rape themselves at will, have sex in the open, defecate in public and walk around naked. The males even see nothing wrong with impregnating their own mothers. Forget all the fuss about beavers building dams, apes using tools or ants engaging in suicide bombings. It is a result of nature and not of civilisation or stupidity as in the case of suicide bombers.
I still insist that humans are not animals and if any human insists he is an animal, I insist I am not. Anyone who believes he is an animal should start deliberating whether he is a domestic or wild animal. Meanwhile, I will make myself feel better by dividing living things into plants, animals and Moshood.

According to Temowo, in 2015, a total number of 599, 560 people were counselled, tested and received results out of which 15, 311 people were found to be victims of the killer disease.

He further added that 52, 803 people living with the scourge were currently on Antiretrovirals (ARVs).

His words, “These statistics simply means that there are many more people who are not aware that they have the virus, that is why knowing one’s status is very important.

“It is a common knowledge that an HIV positive person can be symptom free for 10 years and will continue to infect others, if not checked and treated. Being HIV positive does not translate to death with appropriate medications,” he added.

How I Recovered Completely from High Blood Pressure without Chemical Drug

On the 29th of March, 2014, I was just lying down in my lobby reading a novel meant for my niece ‘purple Hibiscus’ for relaxation since I rarely had time during week days for such leisure. All of a sudden, letters were becoming blurred. I could not see the letters very well and I also felt a very sharp pain in my chest, accompanied with a severe headache and shortness of breath. The headache was more like a migraine. My niece saw the level of my discomfort and enquired to know what was wrong with me and I told her to quickly consult our family doctor. She narrated to the doctor how I was feeling. When the doctor arrived, the chest pain had subsided a bit, but I was still feeling feverish and headache.THE DIAGNOSIS
When the doctor arrived, he examined my BP using sphygmomanometer and it read 160/100. He told me that was abnormal and that I was at the stage two of high blood pressure. I began to wonder what the possible cause could be because I was four months pregnant and that got me really worried. I was scared of losing my life and not being able to protect the unborn baby. The doctor prescribed some medications almost immediately and warned me to desist from certain foods and habit. He asked me not to eat food such as canned foods, fatty foods, whole milk, doughnut, red meat, table salt, less caffeine, alcohol and a whole lot. It was then I sensed how miserable my life was turning into, because those were
the foods I could easily lay my hands on at the lunch hours at work. I continued with my medication and tried as much as possible to do away with junks and fats. On the 16th of June 2014, I lost my dad and I couldn’t bear the loss because I love him so much, my condition worsened and by then my BP read 170/100. The doctor warned that there is high tendency that I will suffer from postpartrum psychosis if I should put to bed in this condition. I was placed under intensive medical care and was frequently monitored.
Two weeks after, I was surfing the internet for baby things, I visited jiji.com and I saw an advert on “Hypertension”, its causes and symptoms with a solution, but I did not pay much attention since I don’t fancy supplement of any kind. I told my mum about it and she insisted that I inquire more about it. I tried visiting the website http://evergreenhealthsolution.com.ng/bp.htm that I was referred to through the advert. I contacted the number I saw on the website and that was the turning point of my life. I was given an assurance of a restored health. To my greatest surprise, on the 1st of August, 2014, I was in the hospital for antenatal check-up and the doctor asked what I had used for my condition because by then, my blood pressure had reduced to 140/90.
On the 19th of that same month, I delivered my first child without complications. By the time I finished with the therapy, my BP was already 120/80. As I speak today, I live happily with my child and no more worries of severe don’ts. May God bless the day I read the very article online that changed my life. I hereby recommend you to visit the website http://evergreenhealthsolution.com.ng/bp.htm if you have High Blood Pressure or if you know anyone living with the condition. This Information could fetch you a total health freedom and save your life from this instantaneous killer called hypertension.

Oni heads APC situation room for Ondo poll

The All Progressives Congress on Tuesday set up a six-member committee to coordinate the party’s Situation Room for Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo State.
It appointed the Deputy National Chairman (South), Mr. Segun Oni, to lead members of the team.
The team is saddled with the responsibility of coordinating the party’s Situation Room, which is expected to liaise with the party’s national headquarters during the election.
This was part of the decisions reached at the party’s National Working Committee meeting held at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday.
It was learnt that members of the NWC appointed Oni after considering his position and experience in the politics of the South-West where he hails from.
A member of the NWC, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to speak to the media, said, “His choice was without question. Ondo State is one state we cannot afford to lose for several reasons. For one, the South-West is one part of Nigeria that is our home and you cannot afford to lose home matches if you know what I mean.”
A statement by the Assistant Director of Media at the APC secretariat, Edegbe Odemwinge, confirmed the setting up of the situation room.
The mandate of the APC Situation Room, which will be based in Akure, is to liaise with the Control Centre, which will be situated at the party’s national secretariat.

EFFECT OF EATING PAWN AND VITAMIN C{MUST READ}

A woman suddenly died unexpectedly with signs of bleeding from her ears, nose, mouth & eyes.
After a preliminary autopsy it was diagnosed that death was due to arsenic poisoning.
Where did the arsenic come from?

The police launched an in-depth and extensive investigation. A medical school professor was invited to come to solve the case.
The professor carefully looked at the contents. In less than half an hour, the mystery was solved.
The professor said: 'The deceased did not commit suicide and neither was she murdered, she died of accidental death due to ignorance!'
Everyone was puzzled, why accidental death?
The professor said: 'The arsenic was produced in the stomach of the deceased.' The deceased used to take 'Vitamin C' everyday, which in itself is not a problem.
The problem was that she ate a large portion of shrimp/prawn during dinner. Eating shrimp/prawn is not the problem that's why nothing happened to her family even though they had the same shrimp/prawn. However at the same time the deceased also took 'vitamin C', that is where the problem was!

Researchers at the University of Chicago in the United States , found through experiments, food such as soft-shell contain much higher concentration of five
potassium arsenic compounds.

Such fresh food by itself has no toxic effects on the human body.

However, in taking 'vitamin C', chemical reaction occurs and the original non-toxic elements change to toxic elements.

Arsenic poisoning has magma role and can cause paralysis to the small blood vessels. Therefore, a person who dies of arsenic poisoning will show signs of bleeding from the ears, nose, mouth & eyes. Thus as a precautionary measure,

DO NOT eat shrimp/prawn when taking 'vitamin C'.

After reading this; please do not be stingy. It's our duty to take care of our friends.
Pls share with them.

Medical students of the school started converging as early as 8a.m at the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital (LTH) Oshogbo. And one can easily notice the enthusiasm in them to partake in the walk/campaign.
The walk started at 10a.m from the hospital gate at idiseke as students started engaging passerby, women in their shops, motorists, Quranic/Arabic school, etc as we walked down to Orisumibare market in Oshogbo, via Old garage, Igbonna market, back to Ajegunle market and the walk ended around 12noon at the hospital gate in Ajegunle, Opposite the medical Students' hostel.
During the campaign different placards can be seen with the students on which one can easily read the following words;
💥who female genital mutilation EPP
💥join me in stopping FGM
💥EMA dabe fun omobinrin obinrin mo, ila Abe kiko f'obinrin o da
💥FGM is a crime, eschew it
ETC.
Also different songs were composed and the lyrics of one of it goes thus;
🎼E ma dabe fun omobinrin mo (do not circumcise the girl child again)
Iwa yi o da (its a bad practice)
E ma dabe fun omobinrin mo (do not circumcise the girl child again)
ASA yi o da (its a bad culture)...
During the walk we noticed a lot of people still belief strongly in this practice based on the myths that;
👉🏻uncircumcised females are promiscuous
👉🏻it is a practice their forefathers have been doing
👉🏻it makes child birth easier as excess tissue might cover the vagina opening
👉🏻some were of the opinion that campaigns like this are responsible for moral decadence in the society etc.
In conclusion, we, LAUMSites, appreciate the organizers of this program and we are happy for the great opportunity we had to partake in this walk against FGM to impact on our immediate environment. We however recommend we continuity of this campaign against female genital mutilation other means of making people informed and most importantly educated should also be exploited.
Animashaun A.Azeez on behalf of all LAUMSites.

NIGERIA A DECEIVING COUNTRY

Twenty-one senators currently receiving pensions from government as ex-governors and deputy governors.

The current senators who once served as governors are Bukola Saraki of Kwara, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano, Kabiru Gaya of Kano, Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, Theodore Orji of Abia, Abdullahi Adamu of Nasarawa, Sam Egwu of Ebonyi, Shaaba Lafiagi of Kwara, Joshua Dariye of Plateau Jonah Jang of Plateau, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko of Sokoto, Ahmed Sani Yarima of Zamfara, Danjuma Goje of Gombe, Bukar Abba Ibrahim of Yobe, Adamu Aliero of Kebbi, George Akume of Benue and Isiaka Adeleke of Osun.

The  former deputy governors in the Senate are Ms Biodun Olujimi of Ekiti and Enyinaya Harcourt Abaribe of Abia. Danladi Abubakar Sani served as the acting governor of Taraba state.

Many former governors are also in Buhari's Cabinet as Ministers. This includes: Ngige, Fayemi, Amaechi and Fashola (SAN).).

In Akwa Ibom State, the law provides that ex governors and deputy governors receive pension equivalent to the salaries of the incumbent. The package also includes a new official car and a utility vehicle every four years; one personal aide; a cook, chauffeurs and security guards for the governor at a sum not exceeding N5 million per month and N2.5 million for his deputy governor.

In Rivers, the law provides 100 percent of annual basic salaries for the ex-governor and deputy, one residential house for the former governor anywhere of his choice in Nigeria; one residential house anywhere in Rivers for the deputy, three cars for the ex-governor every four years and two cars for the deputy every four years.

It is alledged that in Lagos, a former governor will get two houses, one in Lagos and another in Abuja, estimated at N500 million in Lagos and N700 million in Abuja. He also receives six new cars to be replaced every three years; a furniture allowance of 300 percent of annual salary to be paid every two years, and a N30 million pension annually for life.

This is the reality for all the 21 ex govenors and deputy governors who are currently serving as senators. This same is also true of ex governors who are now serving as Ministers.

NOW I ASK:
How many years did these guys serve their states as governors and deputy governors? Is it more than 8years? Is that a reason to be entitled to pensions for life? Even if they are entitled to pension for life, must it be so outrageous?

As if that is not enough: HOW on earth can any public servant with conscience collect salaries and allowances as a senator or minister, and still have the audacity to claim pensions equivalent to the salaries of a serving governor in Nigeria?

IT ISN'T ROCKET SCIENCE......

Once you are elected a senator or appointed a minister, you must forfeit any pension accruing to you from government at any level until you vacate office. This should also apply to senators collecting military pensions like former Senate President David Mark.

Yet these senators are in the Senate that is inviting the current finance minister to discuss the recession of Nigeria's economy. A senator pockets approximately 30 million naira monthly as salary and allowances. Our "honourables" are not interested to make laws that could restructure our country into economically autonomous federating States/Regions to save the country from sectional agitations that is threatening  to destroy Nigeria. The sad and hopeless situation is that the rest of Nigerians are busy arguing based on party, ethnic and affiliations while these enemies of state continue to rape us.

Do you know that it costs tax payers 290m Naira yearly to maintain each member of our National Assembly in a country where nothing works & 80% of population earn below 300 Naira a day ? A working day earning of a senator is more than a yearly income of a doctor; it's more than the salary of 42 Army generals or 48 professors or 70 commissioners of police or more than twice the pay of the US President or 9 times the salary of US congressmen.

It's high time the country had a referendum on those outrageous salaries of Senators, House of Representative members and other political office holders.

If you are seriously against the looting of our commonwealth in Nigeria, in the name of democracy, you can let this piece go viral by sharing it with as many of your contacts and groups too!
