Oyo, Osun released N13.626b to LAUTECH, insist on forensic audit.

Oyo, Osun released N13.626b to LAUTECH, insist on forensic audit.

 admin  June 10, 2017  0
THE owner state governments of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso have said that their earlier position, demanding an external forensic audit of the institution, so as to defuse and proffer lasting solution to the incessant crisis that had been affecting the institution, has been justified based on the visitation panel’s report, detecting 97 different bank accounts in almost all the commercial banks in the country being operated as against the directive of the Treasury Single Account (TSA)  policy specifically put in place to promote transparency.

The report, also revealed that majority of the banks have closed shop due to either restructuring, merger or outright de-listment by the Central Bank of Nigeria and a total sum of N13.626 Billion subventions, excluding Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) was released to the institution by Oyo and Osun state governments between 2011-2016.
Revealing this yesterday, in Ibadan, the Oyo state commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Adeniyi Olowofela, while receiving the state executives of the Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) noted that part of the recommendations of the visitation panel led by a far famed legal luminary, Chief Wole Olanipekun was that the accounts of the school and its workforce must be audited.

According to him, “We are not too comfortable with the accounting process or procedure of the institution, that is the least we can say now. ” Part of the recommendations of the visitation panel was that the accounts of the school must be audited; not only the accounts but the work force too must also be audited such that we look at the best practices on how to run this particular institution”. The bursary departments still rely on analogue mode of operation, with its attendant challenges and risks”.

The Commissioner continued, “When the government said you must have single account, in that visitation panel report, you have various accounts. If you have various accounts, you have not been accused of any financial difficulty, but we must know the truth so that at the end of the day, we will know whether something is wrong with the management, administration or the accounting process.
“The visitation panel observed that the University opened ninety-seven different bank accounts in almost all the commercial banks in the country. Some of the banks have closed shop, due to either restructuring, merger or outright de-listment by the Central Bank of Nigeria”.

In a like manner, Olowofela summarily analyzed as follows: “The subventions released to LAUTECH between 2011-2016 goes thus; Oyo state released 8,473,361,702.25, and Osun state contributed 5,153,047,345.74, totaling N13.626 Billion.
“Also, the students population is as follows : Undergraduate (Regular) – 27,457. Undergraduate (Part time ) – 1514. Postgraduate (Regular) – 2857. Postgraduate (Part-Time) 3054 . Open Distance Learning (ODL) 655. Total- 35,507 Students. Why is it difficult for LAUTECH to survive, since institutions with less students’ population are surviving?”.
“We must ascertain whether the government needs to jerk up the subvention or whether government needs to remove the subvention completely. We must know so that we will be acting based on facts. But what are we observing now, people are moving from one quarter to the other raising emotions “, Olowofela added.

Appealing to the labour unions of the institution to give peace a chance, he, however assured, “We are getting closer to the solution than to the problem. If we have an enabling atmosphere such that the audit firm is able to do the job there, the two governments will comply with the recommendations. The audit firm must submit its report within the next 3weeks. But it appears as if some people want to truncate the exercise. I am appealing to the workers to give peace a chance”, the Commissioner urged.

8 most expensive jet

1. Gulfstream IV – $38 million

gulfstream
It’s no Boeing, but Tom Cruise’s tiny Gulfstream IV has made quite a name for itself. Coming in at $38 million, this plane isn’t known for its luxury and space, but it does have room for 19 passengers and is powered by two Rolls-Royce Tay 611-8 engines.
This plane is hygienic as well – every two minutes the air in the plane is refreshed so as to avoid the airborne illnesses that us mere mortals are privy to on commercial airlines.

2. BD-700 Global Express – $47.7 million

bd
This jet is the preferred ride of the Hollywood elite. The BD-700 Global Express sits in the hangars of such celebrities as Oprah and Celine Dion. It’s a perfect little jet for quick business trips– complete with seats for around 18 people, workstations, and a community area. At a cool $47.7 million, this is a great little jetsetting plane that is great for getting the job done, but it’s not an obnoxious gas guzzler.

3. Trump’s Boeing 757 – $100 million

trump
What do you do when you don’t need your multi-million dollar private jet anymore? You sell it, of course! Not just anyone can buy the hand-me-down jets of the elite, however. Donald Trumps famous jet, with his name splashed across the side, was formerly owned by Microsoft’s Paul Allen.
Trump’s jet is worth an estimated $100 million. The details of the jet are incredible, with everything from gold plated seat buckles and a 52 inch flatscreen television. Even the bathroom sinks and faucets are gold! The jet has room for 23 passengers and has two bedrooms, it’s definitely a comfortable ride for anyone aboard!

4. Boeing 747 – $153 million

747
One of the most famous commercial jets in the world is the Boeing 747, but did you know that some of the world’s wealthiest use this jet for private purposes? Such fictional characters as Austin Powers travel in a 747, but real life moguls as well. Multi Billionaire Chinese real estate investor Joseph Lau owns a $153 million Boeing 747.
One of the most distinctive things about the Boeing 747 is that it is multi-story. If you’ve ever been in an international terminal, you’ve probably seen one sitting at the gate: the business class is at the top and the commoners sit in the first level. Now, imagine how creative you could get with all of that space on a private plane! What Lau has done with his skyloft can only be left to the imagination, but it’s surely luxurious!

5. Airbus A380 Superjumbo Jet – $500 million

a380
The most expensive airplane ever made is a private jet belonging to Prince Alwaleed bin Talal of Saudi Arabia. At a whopping $500 million this aircraft has everything from a garage for two cars, a room for hawks, a garage for the prince’s luxury automobiles, and a stable. Additionally, the plane has multiple bedrooms, bathrooms with showers, and a “wellness area”.
So what kind of money do you have to have to purchase this kind of luxury personal jet? For starters, Prince Alwaleed bin Talal is the CEO and founder of Kingdom Holding Company, which is a Saudi business involved in real estate, hotels, media, internet, and financial services. Somewhat unsurprisingly given his great financial endeavors and royal status, Alwaleed bin Talal is worth an estimated $20 billion himself, and is ranked as the 26th most wealthy person in the world, according to Forbes.

6. Airbus A340-300 – $600 million

A340
Private jets can be expensive in and of themselves, but when you’re buying a multi-million dollar jet why not spend hundreds of millions of dollars on decorating the interior of the plane as well? That’s exactly what Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov did: the Airbus A340-300 itself cost $238 million, but after the luxury remodelling of the inside, it’s estimated that the jet cost around $600 million.
This super jet can carry 375 passengers and fly for 9000 miles at a time. The billionaire named his jet Bourkhan after his father, Bourkhan, a lovely partner for Usmanov’s multimillion dollar yacht which he named after his mother, Dilbar.

7. Air Force One – $660 million

afo
How much does it cost to keep the president of the United States safe when he travels? When the government purchased Air Force One in the early 1990s the cost was an estimated $330 million, which is around $571 million by today’s standards after inflation. Here’s the catch though: Air Force One is actually two planes.  That’s right, the cost of both of the jets was $660 million of taxpayer money.
But that’s not the end of the money guzzling jet’s expenses. Every time the president takes Air Force One out for a spin it costs $179,750 per hour to operate. As if that airfare cost doesn’t seem out of control as is, the cost of flying Air Force One internationally is astronomical. For example, a quick trip to South America can cost upwards of $10 million.
Although they are obviously more wealthy than the average American family, the Obamas clearly can’t front the cost of traveling in Air Force One themselves. So who pays this aircrafts bills? The American people’s tax dollars of course.

8. B-2 Spirit – $737 million

b2
By far the most expensive plane on the market is the United States military’s B-2 Spirit jet, swooping in at $2.4 billion for the entire devlopment program of this aircraft! In the air since 1987, the military currently possesses 20 of these planes, after having lost one in a crash in 2008.
Also known as the “Stealth Bomber”, the B-2 Spirit has the ability to get through anti-aircraft measures, as well as deploy nuclear weapons. Clearly, this is the most powerful aircraft in the world, and the United States has 20 of them. Used for very different reasons than the commercial luxury jets above, the B-2 Spirit only fits two people. This aircraft was originally designed during the Cold War, but has been used in actual battle in Serbia, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

Riot By NASU Staff In FUOYE, Lecturers Brutally Beaten (Photos) - Education

The Federal University Oye EKITI is among the 6 universities created by President Good luck Johnathan in the year 2011.
The foundation of the school is of controversy as the school is being shared among 2 Local Government which caused problem.

The Non Academic Staff Union (NASU) of the University seems to be deprived of some of their entitlements as staffs. There have being earlier cases of warning strikes,
But the school authority seems not to take required measures to listen to the cry of the staffs.

The Union embarked on another strike in the last 2 weeks. But the academic staffs (Lecturers) of the school continued academic activities (Lecture).. Which made the Nasu Send a note of warning to them to stop all Academic work as they are expected to join them in the strike to enable effectiveness.

But due to the refusal of the lectures to join them in the strike. The NASU made mobilization to the school on Wednesday 7th June 2017.
The Angry staffs physically assaulted all the lecturers they met in the school including a Dean of one of the faculties.

Some of the lecturers escaped as they were chased and battered. A student referred to as (Biggie) was beaten in an attempt to protect one of his Lecturers in the Department of Mechatronics Engineering.

We later heard from a student of the University that a traditional embargo (JUJU) was found in the school gate very early this morning.

Below are some of the pictures we carefully took from the scene.

Alfa Caught With Human Head, Vagina To Be Used For Money Ritual After Ramadan

An Alfa, Rasheed Ajibade, who was caught with a fresh female head in Osun State recently, has explained that he planned to use the head and other body parts of the victims for money ritual after the ongoing Ramadan ends.

Ajibade, 38, an indigene of Ikirun in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun State was caught with a fresh human head and other body parts like hands, lungs, liver and blood, which was kept inside a bottle, was arrested by the police in Osogbo on Wednesday during a stop and search operation.

The Alfa said he was also a herbalist.

He was arrested in an SUV, which he said belonged to his elder brother.

The gory human parts were found inside a small sack he kept in the vehicle.

Speaking with journalists at the Osun State Police Command headquarters, the suspect said he was not the one who butchered the victim but his client, who wanted the money ritual.

Ajibade said the client, who is also an Alfa and specialised in healing mentally challenged persons, simply brought the human parts to him and left.

He stated that he had intended to preserve the human parts until after the Ramadan when he would be free to use the parts for the ritual.

He, however, said the client, who he identified simply as Olorungbebe did not want the kind of ritual, which would bring small amounts of money but the one which would banish poverty from his life.

He said, “I am an Alfa and a herbalist. There is a man, who is also an Alfa; he came to my place and told me that he wanted to do money ritual. I told him that getting the materials needed for the ritual would be difficult but he agreed to bring the materials by himself.

“So, the man came on Wednesday morning from Aagba town with the human parts for the ritual. The body parts he brought are fresh human head, hands, inner parts and vagina. I did not know that he would bring the materials that morning.

“I told him that we are in the Ramadan period and he should wait till after Ramadan before I could do it. This is my first time of doing this kind of money ritual although I do other ones but not this type.

“The man told me he wanted to do money ritual and I told him the difficulty in finding the materials and he told me that he would get them and he did. I am a Muslim and I’m fasting also even when he brought the human parts I told him that this is not the time for such ‘work’.

“The man told me the situations of things in his life and pleaded with me to help him to do it. He did not want the kind of money rituals, which would not bring huge amount of money. He wanted the kind of ritual which brings huge amount of money.”

The interview session with journalists abruptly ended when the policemen, who arrested him asked him to pour the content of the bag on the ground for everybody to see. Despite wearing nose masks, most police officers present and journalists started retching while few other actually threw up due to the stench which oozed out of the sack.

The head was still dripping blood but the liver and the lungs were already decaying.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Finihan Adeoye, said the police would ensure that Olorungbebe was apprehended and the identity of the female victim was revealed.

Adeoye said, “We will surely arrest his partner. We want to know how he got those humans parts, where he got them from and the identity of the victim.”

Nigeria Vs South Africa : A Must Win For Super Eagles - Sports - Nairaland

The last time the two teams met, both teams played out a highly entertaining 2-2 draw in a must win 2015 AFCON Qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, a game which ensured the Super Eagles missing out of the 2015 AFCON in Equatorial Guinea with the South Africans progressing alongside Congo from the group.

Bafana Bafana striker, Tokelo Rantie scored a brace on that night before Sone Aluko got his own double to deny the visitors their first competitive win against the host. Nigeria likewise misses out on the 2017 AFCON in Gabon with Chad pulling out of the qualifiers which meant only one team could qualify out of the group. Egypt picked up the sole ticket of the group having drawn with the Super Eagles in Kaduna and then a 1-0 home win in Egypt which ensures the Super Eagles missing out on two consecutive Afcon finals.

There were lots of experienced players in the team, many veterans including 2013 AFCON top scorer Emenike, Ighalo, Ideye, Enyeama, but the Super Eagles had lost their fear factor, with countries like Sudan and Congo inspired by Biofuma indeed defeated Nigeria, with the latter achieving the feat in Kaduna.

Top 3 Most Difficult Exams In The World.

The question one naturally asks when it comes to lists like this is the criteria used by the author to organize such lists, well, In my own opinion, for an exam to be considered difficult, the following factors has to be put into consideration as well.

- The age of students sitting for(or allowed to) sit for that particular exam. Simply because what might be considered difficult to high school pupils might really be elementary to Phd students.

- The difficulty of the problems. This, I believe, is the most important factor which one can argue to be an indispensable criteria, for some exams requires a exorbitant amount of preparations while others do not.

All protocols observed, here are the top 3 most difficult exams.

3. IIT-JEE and Gaokao.

IIT-JEE and Gaokao are both held in India and China respectively, they are considered to be the most difficult entrance examination for pre-colloge students in the world. Excellence in these exams demands ridiculous amount of preparation, time is usually short and requires superhuman ability to read, understand and solve the problems in a matter of seconds. It is the most prestigious entrance examinations in the world, the pressure is so high that students attempt suicide out of frustration, especially Chinese students.

2. Putnam

The William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition is a highly challenging, proof-oriented mathematics competition for undergraduate students in North America.
Top scoring students on the Putnam exam are named Putnam Fellows.
The examination is considered to be very difficult: it is typically attempted by students specializing in mathematics, but the median score is usually zero or one point out of 120 possible, and there have been only four perfect scores as of 2010. In 2003, of the 3,615 students taking the exam, 1024 (28%) scored 10 or more points, and 42 points was sufficient to make the top percentile.

The competitors describe it as "like hitting your head on a brick".
The problems could usually be solved with just basic knowledge if elementary Mathematics but requires extensive creative thinking.

1. IMO.

Yeah, the International Mathematical Olympiad is the most difficult of all other science Olympiads.
The content ranges from extremely difficult algebra and pre-calculus problems to problems on branches of mathematics not conventionally covered at school and often not at university level either, such as projective and complex geometry, functional equations and well-grounded number theory, of which extensive knowledge of theorems is required.
The exam is open for High school students under the age of 20 and not registered into any tertiary institution.

This is no ordinary High School competition, handling IMO level problems requires a ridiculous amount of preparation and extensive knowledge of theorems that are not even covered in the Undergraduate Mathematics curriculum, their Algebra, Number Theory and Geometry is impenetrable to the average undergraduate student specializing in Mathematics. And problems on Combinatorics requires extensive creative thinking
