The All Progressives Congress (APC) has express its sorrow and grief over the death of Omowunmi Akande, the wife of its pioneer interim National Chairman, Bisi Akande.
Mrs. Akande, aged 73, passed on, Tuesday, at the University College Hospital in Ibadan.
In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the APC described the late Omowunmi as a humble woman who was committed to charitable initiatives and community development.
While commiserating with Bisi Akande who is an erstwhile governor of Osun state, the party said the First Lady would be missed dearly.
The statement reads: “The All Progressives Congress (APC) commiserates with former Governor Of Osun State and the Party’s former Interim National Chairman, H.E. Chief Bisi Akande (Asiwaju Of Ila Orangun) over the death of his wife and family matriarch, the late Chief (Mrs) Omowunmi Akande who passed on July 11, 2017 at the age of 73.
